MUSIC

Music in the primary school years is absolutely essential. Music plays a major role in school life at Pinehurst. We hope to foster a love of music in our pupils and to equip them with the confidence and skills to excel in High School and beyond.

We value that all Pinehurst pupils can learn about and make music in the Performing Arts classes.

We offer specialist tuition with more than 200 pupils participating in our programme. Our dynamic team offers tuition in piano, recorder, drum kit, classical guitar, electric guitar, violin, trumpet, trombone, baritone, French horn, saxophone, clarinet and flute. Formal theory of music classes begin with Grade 1 theory.

Our larger groups, namely the Junior Choir, the Senior Choir and the Orchestra are supported by various small groups, including string, flute, brass, woodwind, recorder and vocal ensembles.

Throughout the year there are many opportunities to perform, participate in competitions and take external music examinations.
